eLearning Internship
Online Learning Australia (OLA) is offering eLearning internships which will:
- Provide work related skills development for motivated young people;
- Create quality eLearning resources at a price point that will keep services in Australia (against competition from overseas suppliers);
- Allow Australian companies a greater share of the eLearning revenue.
The eLearning industry suffers from a lack of skilled staff as trained and experienced staff are attracted to roles in games and web development. There is a need to refresh with younger people who will have a longer term commitment to eLearning.
Overview
The program will be a combination of work experience, internal training and some specific external accredited training. The internship is intended to be targeted to recent VCE graduates. VCE graduates with work experience will be considered.
The successful candidates will nominate for a primary skill set from:
- Instructional Design
- Multimedia Development
- eLearning Architecture
- Project Management
This preference will be used for the work experience path way during the apprenticeship. All interns will develop all 4 skill sets to varying levels.
- Applicants for the instructional design internship will be sought with some or all of the following qualities:
- Good written English skills
- An interest in communication and education using technology
- Applicants for the multimedia internship will be sought with some or all of the following qualities:
- Experience using
- graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite)
- Flash
- web design (HTML / CSS / Javascript)
- A strong sense of visual design
- Applicants for the eLearning architecture internship will need similar qualities as the multimedia applicants as well as a desire and interest in technical IT problem solving and creativity
- Applicants for the project management internship will be sought with some or all of the following qualities:
- Good written English skills
- Mathematical and logical skills and an interest in problem solving
All applicants will need a willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team.
